Survey

Hey everyone! I need your honest answers and opinions to my questions. I didn't create the program myself, so I don't have any personal attachment to the rules we've followed. I want to make this better, if possible and more fun for the next round(s). Here are some of my thoughts in no particular order:

How do you feel about Thursday as weigh-in day? What were the pros and cons? Do you think another day of the week would be better? Does emailing in your weight work for you? Do you like that your actual weight is concealed or do you not care either way?

How do you feel about percentage being the deciding factor in winners? Can you think of another better way to do it?

For those of you that contributed to the pot: Do you like the amount we put in at the beginning ($10)? Do you like that there was a prize for the winner each week as opposed to only one final winner that gets all the money?

What do you think about the functionality of the blog? Are there things you wish you could do on it, but can't or don't know how? Do you feel comfortable posting and commenting? Do you like how the emails are set up? Should we figure out how you can receive an email when there's a new post? Or do you regularly check it anyway? Recently, I have been commenting on my post so I know it emails you. Is that annoying? :)

Are you joining us again for the next 8 week round? Should we start right away, or take a week off? If I don't do it with you this time around, are you comfortable with me still moderating it? Would you want to be in charge if I'm not? (It's not that much work, just so you know.)

On a personal note...I have approached, but not reached my goal weight. I fear that joining up with just a few pounds to go would not be fair to some of you. I do have a couple pounds to lose but then just need to maintain. I still feel like I need the support of and accountability to this group though. But if I lose my weight and then fluctuate up and down a couple of pounds, I may be winning more often than I deserve. Do you have any ideas of how the blog can fulfill two goals...A group of weight losers and a group of weight maintainers? I may still do the next round with everyone, but I'm just not sure yet.

Do you have any other questions, concerns, or ideas??

There are a couple of ways you can answer all my very many questions. You can leave a comment: once you're in the comment window, you can click "View Original Post" and it will show you the whole post in the same window or you can copy the entire post and put it in the comment window and enter your answers after each question. Or, you can email me...again, copy paste if that makes it easier. I suppose you could call me too, but I would have to write down all your answers so I don't forget. :)

Thanks to everyone for making this a fun 8 weeks. I know it was hard doing this at the holidays, but I don't regret it. It kept me watching my weight and keeping things slightly under control. Now it's a New Year and I feel like I made my resolution in November, which is giving me a jump start now. Thanks again, and hopefully I'll see most of you at the next round!

Hi everyone! I've got my "evaluation" post up that I need your response on. There is one time-sensitive question, so if you could do this in the next 2 days or so, I would really appreciate it. Warning...it will take you a couple minutes. :)

Wow you asked alot of questions. K here it goes... Thursday was fine though it was a little mean that it was on all three holidays, emailing weight is fine too it'd be better then calling would be, Yes I like weights being concealed, I didn't contribute and therefore have no opinion on the $, I think the blog functions fine, I feel fine commenting, I like the way the emails are currently set up, I only check the blog when I am emailed, I will not be joining for round 2, I am only 1 lb away from my goal and therefore I have no reason to be in a competition for weight Loss if I am just trying to maintain my weight and build muscle, So I could care less if you moderate the next time around. Well there you are. I know it is not helpful but that's about the extent of my opinions. I have enjoyed my self and I'm glad to be back to my pre pregnancy weight... Now I just need the nice 6 pack (I can dream cant I)

Thursday worked OK for me. I think I may have been on time more often if the weigh-in day would have been Friday, but then if I forgot on Thursday, I had a kind of "make-up day" on Friday.
Email is the easiest way for me to do it, and I did like that my actual weight was concealed. I think measuring our loss by percentage is the fairest way to judge a winner.
Though the money did not motivate me at all because I never expected to win (the fact that I won 1 week was awesome!) it was nice having it there as a little reward each week. And I can't think of anything better to offer that everyone can contribute and possibly win that is as fair as mula.
I am not at all blog savvy, so the fact that I didn't have to do anything on the blog worked out great for me. The only time I would check the blog is when I got an email about it, so I don't know if that defeats the whole purpose of the blog or not.
Although I too am at my pre-pregnancy weight, I still have a long way to go to reach my goal weight, so I am in this for as long as anyone else wants to do it! I know Evan hasn't been as serious about this as I have, so I'm not sure if he'll want to do it again. I may make him do it anyway! As mentioned above, I lack the blog gene, so I like that Carrie pretty much does everything. :D

So despite the fact that this is only my second post to this blog since we started, I really like having something there to keep me accountable for my weight loss. I have needed something to just get me going, and this was it! I think it was a fabulous idea and am grateful to be a part of it!

Okay, I also liked having weigh-in on Thursday. I don't really expect to ever win, but am happy to contribute to the money pile. I don't try THAT hard, but it still acts as a conscience for me and I am happy that at least I lost SOMETHING and I would like to continue. Now that the holidays are finally over I might actually get into a good habit with my exercise instead of it being so hit and miss. I like the way the blog works, and yes, I only really look at it after I get an email. I love reading everyone's comments even though I don't leave very many myself. You all inspire me and it is fun to be part of your little group even if I am an old lady! So, Carrie, if you are up to it I am "in" for another round.
