Here are the results for Week 1 weigh-in (in order of percent lost):
Congratulations Jamie! This was a great week for us as a team! Our total weight loss this week was 34.2 pounds! Thanks to everyone for putting up with my emails getting this all started. I want to extend a special welcome to the crew joining us from the Casa Grande Skinny Jeans group that I copied. Their group dwindled and so the few remaining came over to join us. We also have some newcomers...including our winner Jaime. That makes for a more challenging but much more exciting competition! Good luck to everyone this week. And don't eat too much at your Super Bowl parties. :)

My Stats & Goals
I'm going to lay it all out here, so this is VERY personal. This is really hard for me to admit all of this, but I need you all to hold me to my goals. So here it is:
I weighed in at 145. My BMI is 24.9 which is barely in the "healthy range" and since weight fluctuates really I'm officially overweight (is what my Dr told me). And unfortunately I wear size 12 jeans. This is something that I have been struggling with for almost 4 years now. It all started when I got on this hormone that put me into a temporary menopause for my endometriosis, one of the side effects of that hormone was weight gain. Also I'm an emotional eater that really doesn't help my eating habits, I eat horribly!
But 2009 is a new year, so I am really working hard on eating healthier: fruit, veggies, yogurt, oatmeal, things like that. And I'm trying really hard to not eat any junk food or candy/chocolate which is hard because I have the world's biggest sweet tooth! But when I am in a snacking mood I remind myself that I have carrot and celery sticks to munch on, and when I'm craving sweets I remind myself that grapes and apples are sweet and that satisfies my craving. Also I'm trying to cut out carbonation (I say try because that is what I want to do, but Jeremy has soda all the time and I guess I am just too weak), though I will allow myself to have some on occasion, say for like my birthday, which is coming up, Feb 6th. :)
Also I am doing a full body detox/cleanse. Which will totally help my liver because of all the pain killers I've taken in the last several years. And it will help all of my organs to start working great again. Plus hopefully it will help me lose weight.
And over the past two weeks almost everyday I have taken Brayden (my son) out for a walk and to the park where we run around. And for the most part, each day I have increased the length of my walk. Also I have been doing stretching or a little bit of yoga. So I know it isn't much for exercise yet, but it's WAY better then I have been doing for a LONG time.
Anyway so my goals are to get to between 115 and 120 lbs, (if I weigh 120 it will be because of muscle) and to get my BMI to between 19.75 and 20. And to get back into my size 4 jeans at least, though if I could get back into size 2 I would be SO ecstatic!

Season 2 Premiere
The Rules to the game are:
*Lose weight!!
*Put $10 in the pot at the beginning. **NEW THIS ROUND** If you'd rather NOT participate in the money part of the contest, please let Carrie know within the first week.
*Each week there will be a winner. Whoever lost the biggest percentage of weight from week to week will be the winner and if they put money in, they will win $1 from everybody else that put money in. (For example, if there were 10 people participating, the weekly award would be $10.)
*At the end there will be the regular weekly winner, and then the person that lost the biggest percentage of body weight from the start to the finish will be the overall winner! If they put money in, they will win the remaining money in the pot ($2 from each person - for example, if we have 10 people, that would be $20.)
*Use the same scale everytime. You also may want to weigh under the same conditions each time. (Right when you wake up in the morning before you get dressed, for example.)
*If you miss a week and can't get to the scale we can divide the total loss between the missing weeks.
**NEW THIS ROUND**Carrie will keep track of weights, so email or text her your weight each Thursday and if you are going to miss a week let her know.
*The total time we will do this round is 8 weeks, so we finish on March 19th.
*This blog will be open for all of us to share tips, ideas, recipes, inspirations, whatever you want to share. Let's get into those skinny jeans!!

Season 1 Final Results
Thanks so much to all of you that answered my way-to-long survey! It really helped me know how you felt things were going and verified for me the things that are going good. Thank you to everyone for participating and making this a fun experience for all! For those of you who are not joining us next time, we will miss you and please feel welcome to join back up anytime!
To the results... In an eight week time period, as a team we have lost 53 POUNDS for a combined total of 2.16% of our body weights! And now, without further ado, the winner of the Winter 2008-2009 Season of Skinny Jeans Biggest Loser Blog contest IS...
me! Well, that was pretty anticlimactic.
It is such an honor to receive this award. I'd like to thank the Academy, Jocey and her sister (you guys will get to know Jocey next round) for letting me steal they're idea, Somer for making me start sooner than later, Cathy for not being too mad about that, and everyone who joined for putting up with my emails. It was really fun and totally worth it. Here's to next season!!

Survey
Hey everyone! I need your honest answers and opinions to my questions. I didn't create the program myself, so I don't have any personal attachment to the rules we've followed. I want to make this better, if possible and more fun for the next round(s). Here are some of my thoughts in no particular order:
How do you feel about Thursday as weigh-in day? What were the pros and cons? Do you think another day of the week would be better? Does emailing in your weight work for you? Do you like that your actual weight is concealed or do you not care either way?
How do you feel about percentage being the deciding factor in winners? Can you think of another better way to do it?
For those of you that contributed to the pot: Do you like the amount we put in at the beginning ($10)? Do you like that there was a prize for the winner each week as opposed to only one final winner that gets all the money?
What do you think about the functionality of the blog? Are there things you wish you could do on it, but can't or don't know how? Do you feel comfortable posting and commenting? Do you like how the emails are set up? Should we figure out how you can receive an email when there's a new post? Or do you regularly check it anyway? Recently, I have been commenting on my post so I know it emails you. Is that annoying? :)
Are you joining us again for the next 8 week round? Should we start right away, or take a week off? If I don't do it with you this time around, are you comfortable with me still moderating it? Would you want to be in charge if I'm not? (It's not that much work, just so you know.)
On a personal note...I have approached, but not reached my goal weight. I fear that joining up with just a few pounds to go would not be fair to some of you. I do have a couple pounds to lose but then just need to maintain. I still feel like I need the support of and accountability to this group though. But if I lose my weight and then fluctuate up and down a couple of pounds, I may be winning more often than I deserve. Do you have any ideas of how the blog can fulfill two goals...A group of weight losers and a group of weight maintainers? I may still do the next round with everyone, but I'm just not sure yet.
Do you have any other questions, concerns, or ideas??
There are a couple of ways you can answer all my very many questions. You can leave a comment: once you're in the comment window, you can click "View Original Post" and it will show you the whole post in the same window or you can copy the entire post and put it in the comment window and enter your answers after each question. Or, you can email me...again, copy paste if that makes it easier. I suppose you could call me too, but I would have to write down all your answers so I don't forget. :)
Thanks to everyone for making this a fun 8 weeks. I know it was hard doing this at the holidays, but I don't regret it. It kept me watching my weight and keeping things slightly under control. Now it's a New Year and I feel like I made my resolution in November, which is giving me a jump start now. Thanks again, and hopefully I'll see most of you at the next round!

Week 7
I am so SO sorry I didn't get this up earlier. How much of a blog moderator slacker am I? I was waiting through Friday to see who all was going to weigh in then I totally forgot! And every time I thought about it, it wasn't a time where I could do it! I still want to get a post going about the next round. I'll try to do that soon. So here's the results:
Congratulations to Amy! That was the closest top two so far. But I am so glad you beat me, because like I said, it's not like I tried. My body just did it's own thing last week.
Ok, lets make these last 3 days count! Try to be good about getting me your weights on time this week so we can determine our final winner. Also, anyone who wants to send an "after" picture, that would be great. You can post it yourself or email it to me and I'll post it for you. It would be fun to see them side by side with your before picture too.

Week 6
Congratulations to Lindy! Once again, I impressed with that much weight loss at the holidays. Ok everyone, holidays are OVER. Not only that, but it's a NEW YEAR! I'm not one for making New Years Resolutions, but for me, this year, I'm making an Post-holiday resolution. Let's make these last 2 weeks count! I went ahead and posted your overall percent loss so you can see where you are in the running for the finals. If you don't think you have a chance to win the whole competition, don't forget that there are still 2 individual weeks to be won. Next week I'll make a post regarding the next 8-week run and you can comment and let me know if you're in or not, what you liked and didn't like about this time around, etc. Good luck this week!
Carrie
